Monsignor Lenz is a native of Gallitzin, Pennsylvania, a coal mining community twenty miles north of Altoona, PA. In April, 2007, he retired after thirty one years as the National Director of the Catholic Church’s Black and Indian Mission Office. He was then appointed by the Vatican to be the Vice-Postulator for the Canonization of Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha.

Come and greet Monsignor Lenz on Wednesday, July 30, as he instructs us all on this very spiritual process.

Fr. Benedict Groeschel, C.F.R., is loved by many for his powerful witness to the Gospel, his many writings, and his distinct sense of humor. In May 1987, he founded, with eight other friars, the community of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal. The Community, which follows the Capuchin Tradition, is dedicated to preaching reform within the Church and caring for the homeless in the South Bronx and Harlem sections of New York City, as well as in London and Honduras.

Father will be available for a book signing on Friday, August 1. He will also be giving a conference in the Shrine church on the evening of August 1.

Eduardo Verástegui, star of the recently released movie Bella, will be here on Thursday, July 31, to greet the many pilgrims to the Shrine. He will gladly autograph DVDs of Bella which you may obtain once you arrive at the Pilgrim Center.

Eduardo has dedicated his talents to promoting solid family films and his movie Bella is a wonder pro-life film. Be sure not to miss this great opportunity!

Raymond Arroyo, host of The World Over Live on EWTN and author of the biography of Mother Angelica, will be the anchor for the EWTN LIVE telecast of the Dedication Mass on Thursday, July 31.

He will also be available for a book signing on Thursday morning in the Pilgrim Center.

Bishop Joseph J. Madera, M.Sp.S. is the retired Auxilliary Bishop of the Military Archdiocese. He is a native son of Mexico and he will be atthe Shrine on Wednesday to present us with a “catechism” lesson based on the Tilma image of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

We are honored to have Bishop Madera with us during this special time.

Ms. Ball is the noted author of several books on the saints. She writes in her “spare” time when she is not working in her Security Company in Houston, Texas. “It was curiosity that made me wonder what saints really looked like,” says Ann, and we have all benefited from her investigations!

Ann will be speaking on Wednesday on the life and martyrdom of Blessed Miguel Pro and will gladly sign copies of her biography of Fr. Pro on Wednesday and Thursday of dedication week.

Relevant Radio was founded in answer to a challenge from our beloved Pope John Paul II. The Holy Father encouraged American Catholics to seize the means and methods of modern communication to inspire the faithful with a deeper understanding and commitment to Christ and His church. This he called the New Evangelization.
