Good work begins with good people,
and the best work begins with the best people.
The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe will hire three new key staffers in the next few months, to prepare for the significant projects that lie ahead, including the Retreat House, and so we are seeking the best people. As a result, our personnel costs, as approved by the board of directors, have increased.
Once again this Lent, one of our steadfast and generous donors, Mr. Dan Reinerio, has made a challenge that we are confident, with Our Lady’s intercession and your help, can be met. Dan has made another substantial pledge that will ensure your gift is matched dollar-for-dollar up to $30,000, if we can meet the challenge by Easter Sunday.
The Shrine is blessed by a beautiful setting, a magnificent Church, and the wise leadership of Cardinal Burke. The Shrine is also blessed by a dedicated, hardworking and faithful staff, which will be strengthened by some new members. A successful Lenten campaign, in response to Dan’s generous offer, will assist us in underwriting some of the costs required to hire the right people.
As you may know, the Shrine never closed in the past 12 months, and the spiritual care of the pilgrims never faltered. We now look ahead to the 500th anniversary of the apparitions of Our Lady of Guadalupe to St Juan Diego, which will come in December 2031…not that far away. The staff, enriched by new people, stands ready to undertake many worthy and exciting projects. Your generosity will help realize these noble goals, to the honor of Our Lady and the spiritual benefit of many.
In the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
Rev. Paul N Check
P.S. Your gift, matched dollar-for-dollar, has double the impact throughout Lent, so prayerfully consider your gift today!
