We often hear Lent explained as a time in the desert and a time of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.
We want our practices and our sacrifices to have meaning and impact, not only to change the way we live but to change other lives as well. This Lent, your almsgiving to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe can do just that – by having double the impact!
The Reinerio Family Trust has challenged the Shrine to raise $25,000 with a matching gift of the same amount to raise $50,000 for Our Lady’s mission, here, at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Your meaningful gift could be what makes the difference in meeting this matching challenge.

Lent Through the Gospels with His Eminence
As we prepare for the “Great Fast,” the Lenten journey of 40 days that leads us to the foot of the cross our hearts are moved to remember the importance of this annual journey. Each Saturday during Lent, Cardinal Burke and Fr. Edward Nemeth will meditate upon the upcoming Sunday’s Gospel readings to help each of us to grow deeper in our relationship with Christ.
