Passion Sunday Concert
Our annual Passion Sunday concert offers ample opportunity to meditate upon the Passion of Christ as we begin our journey into the holiest time of the Liturgical Year. Conductor Andrew McDonald will lead the forces of choir, soloists and organ in dramatic musical portrayals of penitential texts, including Kyrie (Lord, have mercy.), Da pacem Domine (Give peace in our time, O Lord.), Pange lingua (Sing, my tongue, the Savior’s glory.), Pie Jesu (Sweet Lord Jesus), culminating in a 30-minute meditation on the Stations of the Cross (Via crucis) by Franz Liszt, composed in 1879. Often performed all over the world, Liszt’s dramaturgical settings of all 14 Stations provide a musical glimpse into the very Passion of Christ. This concert will last approximately one hour. Admission is free and open to all.
