Mexican Baroque: Music from New Spain
Join us as we celebrate the music of Juan Gutiérrez de Padilla, the Cathedral’s famed music director from 1628 to 1664. His music played a key role in the Cathedral’s consecration in 1649.
Counted as Mine Operetta
Counted as Mine offers a rare occasion to experience, in a dramatic way, a glorious musical re-creation of the Virgin of Guadalupe’s apparitions in Mexico. This is a ticketed event; tickets are available at website.
Corpus Christi
What does Corpus Christi mean? The words “Corpus Christi” mean “Body of Christ” and are another name for the “Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ” celebrated on the Sunday after Trinity Sunday. This solemnity marks with particular emphasis the doctrine of Christ’s real presence—body, blood, soul, and divinity—in the Eucharist.
