Passion Sunday Concert
As the Church enters the solemn days leading to Holy Week, the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe invites you to its annual Passion Sunday Concert, an hour of sacred music offered to aid prayerful meditation on the Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Music will include excerpts from the Missa ‘In simplicitate’ by Jean Langlais, the Seven Last Words of Christ Upon the Cross by F. J. Haydn, unaccompanied solo pieces by St. Hildegard von Bingen, and an organ piece by J. S. Bach. The performers are Michelle Elliott, violinist, with string quartet, soprano Jenny Ubl, mezzo-soprano Elizabeth Pearse, and organists Andrew McDonald and Scott Turkington.
Set within the sacred beauty and acoustics of the Shrine church, the Passion Sunday Concert offers a space of quiet reflection, helping the faithful turn inward as Lent reaches its most intense and meaningful moment. Whether you are beginning your journey toward Holy Week or seeking a deeper encounter with the mystery of the Cross, this concert invites you to pause, listen, and pray.
All are welcome to attend this free concert as we meditate together on the Passion of Christ in a spirit of reverence and hope.
