  • Holy Shroud of Turin Exhibit

    March 13, 2024 - March 20, 2024

The Shroud of Turin replica exhibit returns to the Shrine of Our Lady Guadalupe, March 13-20, 2024

View a life-size replica of the original Shroud of Turin, which is believed to be the burial cloth Jesus was wrapped in after His crucifixion. The Shroud is believed to be the most studied object in history.

"It contains all of the information in the gospels, and then even more information that science has been able to extract from the shroud, showing the evidence that Jesus was a real person,” said Tony Cherniawski, Expert Presenter.

Mr. Cherniawski will offer free presentations to pilgrimage, parish, and school groups that would like to visit the exhibition.  Please contact the Shrine in advance to schedule a presentation from the options below.

For Presentation Reservations please complete the Shroud Replica Form Here
    or Call: Pilgrimage Coordinator, 608-519-4429

    Presentation Options:

    1. The first is a children's' presentation lasting half an hour for elementary grades K-4.  It is interactive.
    2. The second presentation is entitled, "Jesus Are You Real?"  Intended for the adolescent.  It includes an attempt to link the Gospels to the evidence of the Man in the Shroud.  The evidence shows that the Gospels are true.  The truth makes Jesus real.
    3. The third presentation is entitled, "The Passion of Christ", based on a Meditation of the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary.  It takes about a half hour.  Please note if preferred with supplementation of descriptive information on the Shroud that extends the presentation to an hour.  It has some scenes from "The Passion of Christ," therefore it is recommend that younger children be accompanied by their parents or older siblings.
    4. The fourth presentation is entitled, "Who Do You Say I Am?"  This is intended for adults. It is a densely packed presentation with scientific and historical references taking an hour with questions and answers after.

    3. Place our complete trust in Jesus.
    4. Go to Confession.
    5. Receive Holy Communion.
    6. Venerate* the Image of Divine Mercy.
    7. Be merciful to others, through our actions, words, and prayers on their behalf.

To receive the Extraordinary Graces of this Feast, the only condition is to receive Holy Communion worthily on Divine Mercy Sunday by making a good confession beforehand and staying in the state of grace, and trusting in His Divine Mercy.

A Plenary Indulgence can be obtained by fulfilling the usual conditions.**

*To venerate a sacred image simply means to perform an act of religious respect toward it because of the person whom it represents.

**The extraordinary graces promised to the faithful by our Lord Himself through St. Faustina should not be confused with the plenary indulgence.
