Andrew Scanlon Organ Recital
Andrew Scanlon is an acclaimed organist and choral conductor currently serving as the Associate Organist & Choirmaster at the historic Church of the Advent in Boston, Massachusetts. A native of Methuen, Massachusetts, Scanlon has established an international reputation for his “stately” and “exemplary” performances, particularly within the French Romantic and English choral traditions.
Professional Background
Prior to his appointment in Boston in 2021, Professor Scanlon spent twelve years as the Professor of Organ and Sacred Music at East Carolina University, where he also served as Organist-Choirmaster at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Greenville, NC. His distinguished career includes previous faculty and liturgical positions at:

Christ & St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church (New York, NY)

Concert Career & Artistry
As a concert artist, Andrew Scanlon has performed at some of the world’s most prestigious venues, including Notre-Dame Cathedral (Paris), St. Patrick’s Cathedral (New York), and the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine. His recitals have spanned North America, Europe, and Africa. He is a frequent performer and clinician for the American Guild of Organists (AGO) and the Organ Historical Society.
His discography includes the critically acclaimed 2013 solo album Solemn and Celebratory, recorded on the Fisk organ at St. Paul’s in Greenville, which The Diapason praised as “beautifully realized.”
Education & Honors
Andrew holds degrees from Duquesne University and Yale University, having studied under masters such as Thomas Murray, David Craighead, and Ann Labounsky. He holds the Fellowship diploma (FAGO) from the American Guild of Organists—the organization’s highest professional certification—and currently serves on its National Board of Examiners.
