November 2, 2024, the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed (All Souls Day), Cardinal Burke will offer a Pontifical Requiem Mass at 1:00 p.m. An orchestra will accompany the Mass using Requiem compositions by Gabriel Faure. The First Saturday devotions will occur at a later time than usual: a reflection at 12:15 p.m., followed by the Rosary at 12:30 p.m., followed by the Pontifical Requiem Mass with Absolutions at the catafalque after Mass. The First Saturday Intention for the Living & Deceased Members of the Marian Catechist Mass Guild will be transferred to the 12:15 Mass on All Saints Day, Friday, November 1st. Mass intentions on November 2nd must be offered solely for the deceased. Please join us in praying together for the purification of all the Faithful Departed on the afternoon of November 2nd. Due to the length of this Mass, the 3 pm Holy Hour will not take place.
Cardinal Burke and the Shrine
Throughout the year, Cardinal Burke, the founder of the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, celebrates the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass at the Shrine. The Mass times and occasions vary. Please see the schedule.
The mission of the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe is to serve the spiritual needs of God’s children. Our Lady of Guadalupe has called millions to her Son, Jesus Christ. You are invited on Pilgrimage, an ancient practice.
A pilgrimage both represents and supports our lifelong journey toward our true home, and refreshes our awareness of life as a great quest for God’s Kingdom.
Invited on Pilgrimage
Set aside the distractions of life and make a pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe where, amid the destruction in the world, Our Lady shields and shelters us in the folds of her motherly arms.
Every detail, including the architecture, invites pilgrims to Jesus through Mary. “You’re lifted up with the architecture into the dome, into the Heavens with Our Lady of Guadalupe.” – Duncan Stroik (Architect)
Spiritual Welfare
The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe is a place for participation in the Holy Sacraments. Every day the Shrine offers at least two Masses, a Holy Hour, and Confession. More spiritual needs can be fulfilled through Relic Veneration and Plenary Indulgences. The Shrine is officially affiliated with both St. Mary Major and the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City.
